Jiang (J) Yu – President, CEO & Founder LunarNYC
Mr. Yu is the founder of Lunar New Year Celebration™ (LunarNYC) and has dedicated his life to helping, uniting all Asians and those who love the culture under one Global Brand. From a dream, his mission aims at providing a global platform to help empower Youth, while promoting Diversity, Love, Unity, Peace and Prosperity through sports, educational activities and community events. Mr. Yu’s unconventional and unlikely journey from humble beginnings as a “sweatshop baby”, to eventually becoming a successful entrepreneur brings strong work ethics and appreciation to “Pay it Forward”.
He is a self taught and private self investor, his relentless passion for international business has helped him develop key, strategic and valuable relationships throughout the world. Previously, Mr. Yu worked as an analyst part of the Corporate & Investment Banking Division at a Premier Wall St. Investment Bank in New York.
Mr. Yu continued his studies at Columbia University & New York University. He holds a BA in Psychology from City College of New York and has taken specialty courses in various New York City Colleges. He is a member of Nu Alpha Phi, where he is the largest donor and often hires as well as helps mentor college students and new graduates. His belief that “the more you help others, the more blessings you will receive”, whether through friendships or business ventures. He is responsible for all of LunarNYC’s executive decisions, executive level talks and the growth into a Global Brand for Asians across the world.
Kenny Lam – Director of Sponsorships
Kenny comes from a real estate finance background and has been practicing in the industry for over 16 years. He is also an investor in distressed properties. Prior to forming Blue Ocean Property Group, he has built and mastered experience in all three of the major mortgage origination platforms. These platforms include mortgage broker, mortgage banker and retail banking institutions (JP Morgan Chase, Capital One & Citibank) for residential and commercial financing. He has a proven track record of success in self originations and building high producing origination teams. In his career, he has generated in excess of 500 Million Dollars in loan volume. He also dedicates his own time and resources back to the
local community by serving on the Board of Directors of two major real estate trade organizations in the New York City area. These organizations include:
- (CAREA) Chinese American Real Estate Association
- (AREAA) Asian Real Estate Association of America
He also serves on the Board of Directors Planning Committee for Pinktie.org, which is a non-profit, 100% pass-through organization that supports breast cancer awareness in Long Island, NY. The organization builds networking events with real estate professionals to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research. The organization currently has over 2,500 real estate professional attendees for its annual event.
Bill Chan Director of Sports & Activities
Bill Chan, whose sports background included 5 years as the proprietor of Pro Bound Publications, a NFL draft scouting analysis magazine, as well as being founder and president of U.S. Asian Basketball since 2001.
Under the guidance of Bill Chan, over 140 of the U.S. Asian Basketball members made their high school teams. Additionally, 25 of those players have played collegiate basketball. Bill Chan has actively spent the last thirteen years conducting research for the betterment of Asian basketball in America and particularly New York City. Mr. Chan previously owned a sports memorabilia company for 27 years.
His passion and love for helping youth in the urban community through sports has had a huge impact in the Asian community. He is a loyal fan to the New York professional teams, especially the Giants and Islanders. He currently resides in the suburbs of New York City, where we have been for the last 21 years with his lovely wife and three children. He is a true New Yorker in every sense.
Jackie Pang – Director of Media Relations
2001 to current: Jackie Pang has been working for Hong Kong Phoenix Satellite TV New York Bureau as Senior Financial News correspondent, Producer and Host for the weekly special: A Passage to Wall Street and Global Financial News Live. Ms Pang was the first Chinese reporter who reported Sept. 11 tragedy on the site of World Trade Center. Her reports have helped Phoenix TV become the most trusted news source for Chinese audience in China during early 2001. She was also awarded one of the 10 most influence journalist in the same year by Beijing Youth Daily.
Ms. Pang has extensive experiences in interviews with senior financial experts and chief economists with major Wall Street Financial Institutions during financial crisis. Her reports and documentary films have helped Chinese audiences understand on a timely manner the turbulence and dramatic changes of the US financial history during that time period.
In Early 2000, Jackie also co-founded: Wall Street Multimedia, Inc.(WSM). Until today, WSM remains a very professional financial news multimedia financial news content provider. It is currently providing stock market information, hot topic weekly shows, and documentary program to for Chinese speaking communities worldwide via internet, radio, and television broadcasting. It also providing English program to both Chinese viewers, and US investment communities. In early 2012, she co-founded CounterPoint Media, a multimedia platform for citizen diplomacy between US and China. She created and produced “Channel C” TV program to help facilitate communications and understandings between US and China.
